So... How Did We Know the Word?

Let’s break it down. You followed five steps that felt personal — your birth year, a meaningful date, your age, a time difference. But the maths always ends up the same.

Try this:

  1. Enter the year you were born — let’s say 1990
  2. Add a year that’s special to you — like 2010
  3. Add the age you turned this year — say you're 35 this year
  4. Add the number of years since that special year — so 2025 - 2010 = 15
  5. Hit equals: 1990 + 2010 + 34 + 15 = 4050

Now add the digits: 4 + 0 + 5 + 0 = 9


Now try a totally different set:

  • Born in 1982
  • Special year: 2001
  • Age this year: 43
  • Years since that year: 24

Total: 1982 + 2001 + 43 + 24 = 4050

Digits added: 4 + 0 + 5 + 0 = 9
